Social Media mastery is a basic skill in a marketing toolkit, but once in awhile it is good to take a look at current trends in the field and brush up on our social skills.

Today’s post is a round-up of helpful information and new ways of looking at your social media content.

The first article highlights a new video feature that is going to take Twitter by storm – get ahead of this trend if you can! (Thinking of creating video? Read this, too.)

The second article gives a teenager’s perspective on nearly all the major social media channels. If you market to millennial at all, this is a great read for you. And all marketers will find it a useful perspective on the up-and-coming social apps.

The third article showcases a marketing campaign using customer “selfies” to drive engagement and social media juice for SMB’s (Small to Medium-sized Businesses). Intriguing way to take advantage of the ubiquitous picture-snapping trend. (SMB content marketing info here)

The fourth article is written by a nonprofit blog on the lessons learned starting up a well-run blog. If you are in the business of telling stories — and we all are — there are some useful lessons here for you. Great read. (Running a nonprofit? Read this, too)

Finally, from our favorite friends over at Quick Sprout, a fabulous infographic highlighting all the best practices for each type of social media post. Love this infographic. Pretty sure we should hang it on our office wall….
